Nitesh is not new to the auto industry. He has been working on cars since he can remember. He was born in the Fiji Islands where at 6 years old he remembers his grandfather instructing him on how to be independent. He grew up deeply valuing family being together, working together and by the time he was 10 he was working, and fully capable of many adult responsibilities. He recalls holding four jobs in junior high - he painted cars, worked as a mechanic, stocked at a liquor store, and served at Taco Bell. After he moved to the Bay Area he began as the oil and lube tech manager at the shop he now owns. After 19 years working for the previous owner he had an opportunity to buy the shop and take over ownership right before the pandemic.
Throughout the pandemic many small businesses suffered with shutdowns but it was at this time that Maintenance for Mom’s found Nitesh through a recommendation. We began to send our mom’s to Zip In Auto, and received rave feedback that he was no nonsense, got the car in, repaired and out so quickly but never without respect and kindness. This seems to come from the values his parents instilled in him. His parents told him to “treat customers like family and to make them happy. Some customers come without the funds, say, to fix their brakes. I am happy to help them because everybody needs help at different times.”
It is this mentality that works so well with the Maintenance for Moms values and mission. Treating customers like family is the reason why our moms feel so safe in Niteshs’ team's hands. They want to help and to make the car as safe as possible for each mom as if it were their own mom or sister. Nitesh shared that often the moms cry when their car is done being repaired and knowing that they can have this burden lifted is a great joy for him. We are so thankful to have found such a wonderful team of mechanics at Zip In Auto.
