Provision During Trials

Sara grew up in the foster care system. She didn’t have parents who raised her. Instead, she grew up in group homes. Because the group homes were so impacted, Sara was sent to live in Juvenile Hall. While there she experienced abuse. To escape the abuse, Sara graduated early from foster care so she could get out of the system. When she turned 19, Sara got pregnant with her first child. She and her ex had three more children.

Due to domestic violence at home, Sara and her children left the abusive situation and found themselves living in their car. Sara’s car began having electrical issues, and she was led to MFM.  “My family and I have struggled for safety and stability for the last nine months while living in our vehicle…” Maintenance for Moms not only helped provide Sara with a safe and reliable car, but MFM was able to partner with Awakening church to provide safe housing for Sara and her family for two weeks until they could move into permanent housing.

I'm so grateful for [MFM’s] presence in my life [during] one of the hardest times in my life...The members were so organized and caring it made things so calming during a hard time. Maintenance for moms [were] like my superheroes. They showed up and were able to assess the situation and immediately figure out a solution and more. Through the whole process [MFM] was the biggest blessing of our life. MFM took something horrible - during the hardest time of my life - and turned it into a total Cinderella Story.”
