Take a moment and listen to Jordan’s story in her own beautifully written words: “I am a single mom of 2 young boys. Jaxon is 4 years old and Silas is 3 years old. In the past, my life was full of struggles. I became hooked on illegal substances at a young age and struggled with drug addiction for many years. A few years ago I accepted Christ as my lord and savior and my life slowly but surely started to turn around. I have been sober for 2 years now however, it was a challenge getting on my feet. I was able to get a car in my first year of sobriety however it was evident there were some issues with the vehicle when it was given to me. I struggled for a long time trying to save up money for the repairs it needed.
A friend told me about Maintenance for Moms so I applied. It was such a blessing to walk into that office and feel the overwhelming love I felt. Kathryn sat with me and discussed the options with my vehicle. I dropped my car off at their mechanics a couple days later and a week from the date of my first meeting with them, my car was fully repaired and ready to be picked up. My car needed a whole new transmission. Driving it any further in that condition increased the risk of the engine going out. If it wasn't for maintenance for moms, there is NO way I would have been able to afford the costs of that transmission. Today I can drive with peace knowing my children and I are being transported in a safe vehicle. This has been one of the biggest blessings in my sobriety journey. I will forever be grateful for what Maintenance for moms has done for my Children and I.”
