What Should We Do?

Tracy purchased a car from a friend for $300, and within two days of owning it her car stopped working. The cost to fix it was more than the car was worth; and Tracy didn’t have finances for an expensive repair. The ramifications of COVID-19 seriously impacted Tracy and her son. Tracy lost her job; lost her housing; and now, she lost her car. She was left asking God, "What should we do?" Maintenance for Moms wanted to help Tracy and her son, but the car was unrepairable. Maintenance for Moms began to pray.

About a week later, God provided for Tracy in the most perfect way. A generous woman asked MFM if she could donate a car to a mom in need. This was the answer to prayer. The car was clean and well-maintained; it was perfect for Tracy. God perfectly provided - in His  timing - to reveal His love and grace to Tracy and her son.

Like many who are considering applying, Tracy is used to giving and sacrificing for others - so asking for help and having nothing to give in return was very difficult. Many other moms are afraid to ask for help but as Tracy learned it is in community, that God is able to work. So Tracy’s solution to wanting to give back: she spent all night cooking in the communal kitchen where she is living, just to make her “famous” banana cream pie for our Maintenance for Moms staff.  It was delicious and reflected clearly on this mom’s lovely, selfless heart.
